Things You Didn’t Know About Hydrogen Water

These days, Hydrogen water is on the list of the biggest trends. Just like alkaline water, this water type offers a lot of health benefits.  Hydrogen water comes with some very interesting studies that have already been carried out and this is what makes it so widely acceptable.

So, What Is Hydrogen Water?

Hydrogen water is simply pure water with extra hydrogen molecules added to it. Hydrogen (H2) is the most abundant molecule in the universe. It’s an odourless, colourless, and tasteless gas. But only in 2007 did a team in Japan discover that inhaled hydrogen gas could act as an antioxidant and protect the brain from free radicals, find more information at myhicalmaids(dot)com. This sparked the interest in its potential health benefits worldwide and led to some breakthrough research.

The Overlooked Disease – Obesity in Children

New born children are all pretty, they have soft, pinkish skin, and they are chubby. There was a time when people believed that a fat child was a healthy child because they were born like this. While in the womb they accumulate a certain amount of fat to maintain their body temperature. For some reason or another someone decided that children should be chubby instead of thin.

This is not true, chubby or fat is not healthy, in fact it is dangerous.

Obesity in children is one of the fastest growing diseases worldwide today. Being an overweight child can contribute to many other health issues. Diseases, such as Hypertension and Diabetes, have been directly linked to Obesity. Other disorders, like Hypothyroidism and Asthma can also contribute to Obesity in children. If their thyroid gland is not functioning correctly, then their overall body functioning will be decreased. A Read the rest of this entry

What you should know about Diabetes and Liver Disease

Diabetes is a serious metabolic disorder and it has reached epidemic proportions globally. This disease happens as a result of insulin resistance in the body.

A recent study at Université de Genève says that insulin imbalance may not be the only reason behind diabetes. Researchers say that obesity also promotes resistance to insulin and is major risk factor.

According to them, the liver can also contribute to the onset of this disease by producing a significant amount of glucose outside of any hormonal signal. And, if a person is obese, this excess production of glucose may cause type 2 diabetes.

The Journal of Biological Chemistry published this study.

FATTY LIVER CAN ALSO CAUSE DIABETES: STUDY

Glucose levels in blood are regulated by two antagonistic hormones. The hormone insulin lowers blood glucose level and the hormone glucagon increases it. The liver regulates blood sugar levels by producing and redistributing glucose under the influence of these two hormones. Obese people are at risk of developing insulin resistance and they also have a tendency to accumulate fat in liver cells. Fat in the liver gives rise to fatty liver disease. This causes an alteration in the morphology and structure of mitochondria, the cells energy sources. Researchers say that these changes can have an effect on mitochondrial function. In the study, they sought to find a connection between liver cell mitochondria, obesity and diabetes. They focused on a protein called OPA1 which maintains the structure of mitochondria. Understanding High Blood Pressure

High Blood pressure is determined both by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries. The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood pressure. You can have high blood pressure (hypertension) for years without any symptoms and it affects nearly everyone particularly ageing person. Even without symptoms, damage to blood vessels and your heart continues and can be detected.

High blood pressure generally develops over many years, and it affects nearly everyone eventually. Fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected. Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.

So Is High Blood Pressure a disease? It is NOT. High Blood Pressure is not a disease; rather it is the mechanism by which the body deals with circulatory stagnation or impairment and clogged arteries. Our bodies have a circulatory Read the rest of this entry
